Time and distance records exist for a variety of distances and place to place achievements. It is rare these days that such records are broken and those that manage it rightly deserve a great deal of respect.
There is also a list of club place to place records that were historically competed for but, with changes in road structure, these are now unlikely ever to be beaten.
Three classes of medal, A, B, and C, will be awarded for rides which are equal to or faster than those set out in the list of Standard Medal Times.
Time Trial records are awarded for all standard distances of 10, 15, 25, 30, 50 and 100 miles. In addition distance records for 12 and 24 hours are also recognised.
Track Records are recorded for Unpaced, Standing Start and Flying Start, and are conducted under the applicable British Cycling Rules in force at the time.
Place-to-Place Records will be recognised between the places listed in the current Club Handbook. In all cases these rides are ‘out and home’, and will finish at the starting point.
Throughout the long and rich history of Charlotteville Cycling Club there have been some members whose achievements have reached national levels and these are documented here.
