So you fancy racing with the team? This area of the site is run by road racing members of the club and is the place to find out what races we are entering and what races we have won (or not depending on how the season is going). To find out about the teams training plans, sponsors or how to get started in road racing follow the links in the left hand menu.

Congratulation to Greg on getting his 3rd cat license. Greg has battled away throughout the winter at Hillingdon, his hard work was rewarded in March with 2nd place. Greg said he was so pleased he raised a fist to the air and shouted "YES" as he crossed the line. I told him if he had enough energy to do that he should have won! Great result Greg, if you can follow the form through to 3rd cat you should be in with a chance of the Road Race cup.

Gavin has put together a list of target races for us all. Of particular note are the BOLD club events of the town centre races and the open 10TT. We really want to show our support of the club at these events if possible. Please let me know if you are entering any of the races listed and I will add your name, this way we can more easily share lifts etc.
Eelmoor Some of use will be racing Eelmoor again this year. Racing starts on Wednesday 14th April through to the 21st July. Races are E,1,2 handicap or 3,4 handicap.
Evening 10's Evening 10run throughout the summer. If you can't make eelmoor or fancy a slightly easier workout support the club by racing at the evening 10's. Not sure what date they start this year I will update as and when I get the info.
Crystal Palace John Lewis won't stop going on about how good crystal palace circuit racing is. So we are going to use the July lull in Surrey League racing to try them out. Car sharing makes sense for these races so let me know if you are driving in from Guildford area.

Gavin and Myself are planning on riding the easter 3 day stage race. Anyone else who is 3rd cat and fanices it let me know as we need to send a team entry off in the next week. Details of the stage race are on the Surrey League website here. In order to prepare ourselves we are planning to ride two 3/4 category races in the run up to the Easter 3 Day. Fareham Wheelers Spring Road Race (details) on the 29th March and the Thames Velo Spring Road Race (details) event on the 5th April. These are both reasonably hilly circuits so might suit those of you struggling with your sprint. The chances for breakaways or the field just getting split up are far more likely on the hillier circuits. For these two events just enter online or by mail and get in touch so we can arrange to share transport. Dave. |
