Contrary to rumour the Race Team is still alive and kicking, we have also had a very successful summer. With great results from Rachel, Tim and John. Plus a sprinkling of notable performances from other riders. Alas winter is now upon us and it is time to think of a bit of a break followed by some serious mileage.
Afer my summer long convalescence I finally feel fit enough to get some riding in again, to mark my return to competition I decided to buy myself a shiny new bike. It's got to help me feel better after all.
Admitedly it is a mountain bike, but not to worry there are plenty of events over the winter and that is what this post is really about. Racing is never much fun on your own so who wants to join me.

NAVIGATOR RACES;
Navigator races are run in a 3.5 hour format, orienteering style with a twist. Best of all you can do them as a team of two so they can be a really social way of getting some hard training in. I have a soft spot for them, but have heard rumour that Mike is also a bit of a dab hand.

CROSS COUNTRY RACING;
We have some of the best organised XC racing in our area thanks to www.gorrick.com. OK the event clashes with the Navigator but it is the best way to kill yourself on two wheels ever invented. You thought time trialling hurt, welcome to a whole new world of pain!

So who's up for it? Let me know if you are interested in riding any events and I will try and get all parties talking to each other. This is not a race team exclusive thing, so club members get in touch. I know there are plenty of Mountain Bikers out there. Time to get muddy and have some winter fun. |
